Australian Disability Service Awards finalists revealed for 2025
The finalists for the 2025 Australian Disability Service Awards have been announced, celebrating innovation and inclusion across the sector. Winners will be revealed at a gala in Melbourne on 13 November.
The finalists have been announced for the 2025 Australian Disability Service Awards, recognising the individuals, organisations and programs making a difference in the lives of people with disability across the country.
Now in its fifth year, the awards have become a leading celebration of innovation, excellence and inclusion in the sector. Winners will be named at a black-tie gala on Thursday 13 November at the Pullman Albert Park in Melbourne.
“These finalists show us what’s possible when passion meets purpose,” said Mark Woodland, Co-Founder and CEO of Kismet, custodians of the awards.
“From grassroots programs to visionary leaders, they remind us that innovation doesn’t just come from technology or policy, it comes from people who believe in creating real change.”
Celebrating achievements across the sector
This year’s finalists highlight the breadth of work being done across the disability ecosystem, from employment pathways and inclusive workplaces to assistive technology, home and living solutions, and programs amplifying young voices.
Nominees include well-known organisations such as Melbourne City Mission, Down Syndrome WA and Hotel Etico, alongside newer initiatives like SUPA-VERSE, Paylos Media and Rainbow Roos. Leaders such as Cassandra Hughes from Down Syndrome WA and Muhammad Rahman from Yellow Bridge are recognised for their vision, while frontline workers including Christine Casinader from Avenue CoWorking and Michelle Taylor from Flourishing Lives Disability Services are acknowledged for their person-centred practice.
Lifting up untold stories
Don Elgin, Head of Events at One Community and former Paralympian, said the awards showcase the creativity and resilience shaping disability services.
“These awards are about lifting those stories up, connecting the sector, and reminding every nominee that their work matters.”
Hosted by One Community, now part of the Kismet Healthcare group, the awards bring together providers, professionals and changemakers to celebrate positive stories that too often go unseen.
The winners across 13 categories will be announced on 13 November in Melbourne.
