Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from us at Talking Disability!

It’s been a difficult year for everyone this year, and like so many businesses, DPS, the company behind Talking Disability, had to adapt to ongoing developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. But a lot of this year’s hard work has been back in the DPS office, rather than at home like last year.

While it was a challenging year, Talking Disability was able to report on the most important and relevant news for our readers, and showcase the strength and resolve of Australian communities, while providing the information that Australians with disability needed to safely get through the year.

Even though COVID-19 brought the world to a stop, many areas in the disability sector kept moving. Talking Disability reported on the latest with the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability, as well as the newest updates on COVID-19 vaccinations and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Disability Support Pension changes planned by the Federal Government.

It was definitely a unique year, 2021, with many struggles. But Australia weathered it better than most and we can now look ahead to a fresh start in 2022 as the country recovers from COVID-19.

Talking Disability and DPS look forward to continuing to inform and report on the many new surprises that will no doubt come in the new year.
