NDIS Innovation Grants now open in the NT
Community providers with innovative projects are being encouraged to apply for a new round of grant funding aimed to support the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in the Northern Territory.
Funding for the grants has been made available through the Australian Government’s Sector Development Fund, offering support to the market, sector and workforce to help the transition to the NDIS across Australia.
Federal Assistant Minister for Social Services and Disability, Jane Prentice, says the project will support local providers and help reshape the disability market in the Northern Territory.
“This exciting new venture will fund innovative projects that generate new solutions,” Ms Prentice says.
“We want to identify and test new opportunities that will increase the level of choice and control for people with disability, especially those living in remote areas of the Territory.”
Northern Territory Minister for Health Natasha Fyles says Territorians “deserve” to live in safe and inclusive communities with access to high quality disability services and adds that these grants help to provide that.
Total funding available under the Innovation Grant Program is approximately $2 million, with this final round of the program offering $1 million of funding across all regions of the Northern Territory in the form of small (up to and including $25,000), medium (up to and including $50,000) and large grants (up to and including $100,000).
The grants are open until Wednesday, 7 March 2018 with full guidelines and how to apply available online.
All applicants will be sent a letter to advise if they were successful or unsuccessful in their application for the grants.
