Autism Awareness Australia’s AUStism speaker series is returning in 2021 with an incredible lineup of Australian presenters to coincide with international Autism Awareness Month in April.
Events will be held in Brisbane and Sydney, with a different lineup of speakers at each event. Both of the events will also be livestreamed for global access.
AUStism 2021 is a showcase of great stories from extraordinary people including:
-
internationally acclaimed artist and creator of Laser Beak Man, Tim Sharp, together with his mum Judy.
-
autistic advocate Mark Radburn who appeared in the highly popular ABC series Love on the Spectrum.
-
autism mum, radio host and author, Chloe Maxwell.
-
journalist and TV presenter, Jo Abi.
-
director and author; Jocelyn Moorhouse.
Speakers will all share their personal stories and their family’s experiences, with the aim of raising autism awareness and acceptance.
“The speaker series is an evening of real stories from real people – funny, tough, compelling, bittersweet and guaranteed to stay with you” says Autism Awareness Australia’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nicole Rogerson.
“After a long anticipated wait, we are excited to finally be able host these events and connect some of Australia’s leading writers and thinkers within the autism community”.
